| Like grandfather, Omar too is Kashmir centric : Muslim Conference | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 16 : Terming Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as 'Kashmir centric', the revived All J&K Muslim Conference (G) today alleged that he is following the 'footsteps' of his grandfather Sheikh Abdullah in discriminating against the people of Jammu region. ‘’Mr Abdullah as a state Chief Minister too is following the footsteps of his grandfather Sheikh Abdullah, who had discriminatory mindset against the people of Jammu region and even after six decades nothing developmental has been done for the region,’’ Qazi Irshad Abbas, the new president, All J&K Muslim Conference (G) told reporters at a press conference here. Mr Qazi alleged that it was late Sheikh Abdullah, who created divisions between Jammu and Kashmir to rule the state. ''Sheikh Abdullah, who was also one of the members of All J&K Muslim Conference in 1939, floated National Conference later, but with a different ideology,'' Mr Qazi said adding, ''for political supremacy, Sheikh along with former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, hatched a conspiracy to create a wedge between the two regions.'' The leader, however, alleged that Muslim Conference leader late Ghulam Abbas was sent to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) by the Sheikh-led government in 1947 and during the partition, around 2.5 lakh people died and 15 lakh migrated to Pakistan. ''Muslim Conference has been revived to emerge as people's voice of Jammu region and to end the ‘Kashmir centric’ ideology being adopted by the Omar-led coalition government in the state,'' the leader added.
