| Hearing on bail plea of tainted cops adjourned | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 16- After partly hearing arguments and counter- arguments on bail applications of arrested and suspended police officers in the much publicized murder case of Amandeep Singh, the Principal Sessions Judge Jammu BL Bhat today adjourned the case till Monday with directions to the counsel for the accused to appear on Monday for further arguments. The main accused Jatinder Singh, Ballistic expert Bukhari and constable Raj Singh have been granted 10 days more judicial remand.
Advocates and Special Public Prosecutor appearing for both the sides argued on the bail applications filed by the arrested/suspended SSP Manohar Singh, Sultan Mirza Inspector and Sub-Inspector Satnam Singh allegedly involved in FIR 247/2009 in the much publicized murder case of Amandeep Singh .
Principal Sessions Judge directed Advocates OP Sharma, PN Raina, DS Chouhan appearing for the arrested/suspended police officers and Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi appearing for the SIT as Special Public Prosecutor to appear on Monday October 19, 2009 for further arguments n the bail applications.
The allegation against these police officers are fudging of evidence for changing the weapon used in the murder of Amandeep Singh and involved in u/s 201/409/120-B RPC r/w section 3/25 Arms Act.
In the meantime, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu today dismissed the bail application filed by Raj Singh constable in the FSL allegedly involved in change of bullet used in murder of Amandeep Singh, as no one appeared on his behalf in the court. The Court also fixed October 20, 2009 for arguments on the bail application filed by Sarwar Hussain Bukhari Ballistic expert in FSL Jammu allegedly involved changing of bullet which was used in the murder of Amandeep Singh and recovered from the dead-body of the deceased. Court also fixed October 22, 2009 on the application for release of vehicle which was seized by SIT allegedly carrying documents relating to the property of Choudhary Nagar Singh.
Opposing the bail applications of Bukhari and Raj Singh, SIT in its report submitted in the Court today alleged that the accused are involved in heinous crime and in a criminal conspiracy fudged the evidence and replaced the bullet recovered from the body after taking illegal gratification.
The report further says that father of the accused together with other relatives, police officers/officials and officials of FSL including petitioners entered into a criminal conspiracy to fudge the evidence in the murder case. During the investigation of FIR 247/2009 P/S Gandhi Nagar Jammu, fudging of evidence came to light which gave a new dimension to whole controversy and nexus between the relations of accused with the police officers/officials and officials of FSL including with the petitioners stood apparently exposed. SIT has also found prima-facie involvement of petitioners in fudging of evidence and acceptance of bribe which clearly indicates the criminal intent and design of the petitioner as also of his co-conspirator of police as well relations of accused to fudge the evidence in serious crime and prayed for dismissal of bail applications.
Electricity Magistrate RN Wattal today granted 10 days more judicial remand of Jatinder Singh alias Raja son of Choudhary Nagar Singh, Royal Singh involved in much publicized murder case of Amandeep Singh.
The Court also granted 10 days Judicial remand of suspended/arrested FSL Ballistic Expert Sarwar Hussain Bukhari and constable Raj Singh allegedly involved allegedly changing of bullet which was used in the murder of Amandeep Singh. JNF
