| NNS volunteers celebrate Diwali with inmates of Ved Mandir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 18: The NSS volunteers of GGM Science College both evening and morning shifts celebrated Diwali with the inmates of Ved-Mandir here the other day. On the occasion sweets, fruits and crackers were distributed among the children. On the occasion principal of college, Dr. Sham Lal Gupta who present appreciated and congratulated the NSS volunteers for celebrating Diwali with children. NSS programme officer of college Dr. RS Pathania, Dr. RK Sharma and Dr. VK Chandan, were also present. The NSS volunteers present were Ashutosh Sharma, Rohit Wali, Mohd. Arif, Suhasini, Sumit, Sunil and Monik. During their stay volunteers interacted and play games with orphan children. The main aim of organizing such activities is to develop the organizational skill among the volunteers. NSS units of the science college had adopted the Bal neikten for the last 5 years. They celebrated every festival with the orphan children and provide tuition assistance to them. Capt. Purshotam Sharma, secretary Bal niketan appreciated NSS volunteers for coming on Diwali in Bal niketan to celebrate Diwali among orphan children.
