Poonch, Oct 18: An army personal was killed and three others wounded when they accidentally stepped on a land mine in a forward area along Line of Control in border district of Poonch, late last evening.
Official sources said that a solider was killed and three others were wounded in a land mine blast in Mankote sector of Mendhar, late last evening. The army personnel were patrolling the forward area when one of them accidentally stepped on a land mine, planted years back to curb infiltration.
The booby trap, sources said, exploded with a big bang leaving one solider dead on the spot and injuries to four others. The deceased was identified as Lance Naik Dankar Murti. The injured soldiers were shifted to Military Hospital, Poonch, sources added.
