Vishwakarma day celbrated with gaiety , fervor

Jammu, Oct 18- Reports about celebration of Vishwakarma Day has been received from different parts of Jammu region.
Marble Workers’ Union today celebrated “Baba Vishwakarma Mahotsava with great zeal, fervour and enthusiasm at Marble Market, Greater Kailash, here today in which over 10,000 members of the registered Trade Unions participated. Sati Ram Union President and General-Secretary Ram Bachan were also present.
Advocate Ashok Kumar Basotra, who was the Chief Guest while addressing the workers advised them to send their children for education in the best possible schools and also go in for group insurance schemes for safeguarding the health and life of members as well as their children. However, he criticized the capitalistic policies and approach of the Central and the State Government for jeopardizing the interests of labour class. He expressed regrets that the Central Government has failed to bring back trillions of US Dollars kept in foreign Banks by the corrupt and the anti-national Indians which actually belonged to poor and down-trodden communities of the country.
Samrat Virha Muqabla was also organized on the occasion in which famous Bhojpuri Artists viz. Shivmuni Bharti Muhammadawadi and Saroj Sargam Devriya from U.P. participated.
The function started with a Puja of Bhagwan Vishwakarma Ji Maharaj.
Reports about celebration of Vishwakarma Day have also been received from Udhampur and other parts of Jammu region.
In Udhampur majority of locals, especially technocrats visited Vishwakarma Temple near MH Chowk to pay their obeisance. Large number of community brethren and followers of Bhagwan Vishwakarma participated in the celebrations.
Addressing the gathering Vishwakarma Sabha District President Radhey Sham highlighting the importance of the Day said that Vishwakarma Ji besides his unique expertise skills also preached the message of honesty, hard work and peace in the universe. The true homage to this great architect of ancient times is to follow his teachings in true spirits.
Jagdev Raj Chalotra while addressing the gathering said that workers are the builders of nation, who work tirelessly for raising infrastructure needed for the welfare of the people. He said Vishwakarma Day remembers us of the work being done by the technocrats and other workers for constructing infrastructure required for all round development. He said that Government is committed to uphold and protect the services of these classes which they render for the well being of the State" and assured that all labour rules would be enforced in letter and spirit in the State.
He also urged the Government to issue backward classes certificates on caste basis, enhance reservation quota to 27 per cent as per Mandal Commission report besides declaring holiday on this Day.
workers of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) with full zeal and enthusiasm celebrated ‘Vishwakarma Day’ at kunjwani workshop of PHE here today. Workers who attended the function performed the puja of Bhagwan Vishwakarma with full devotion and offered flowers to the diety.
Speakers on the occasion stressed upon the participants to inculcate the theory of ‘Karma’ in their lives. While speaking president INTUC, Shiv Kumar Sharma express gratitude to the PHE minister for accepting some demands of the employees, especially the enhancement of daily wages from Rs 70 to Rs 110. Among other present on the occasion was chief engineer PHE, RK Abrol.
The contribution of Vishwakarma ji was recalled at a function at Vishwakarma Mandir at Mishriwala organised by the Vishwakarma Committee here today. Member Parliament Mr. Madan Lal Sharma was the chief guest while as Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Mr. Sham lal Sharma and Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla were the guest of honour. The committee organises the function every year on the Vishwakarma day, which is celebrated with great fervour all across the country by the artisan community.

Paying respect to the artisans, who give shape to everything through their hard work and skill, Mr. Madan Lal Sharma said that both the Central as well as the State governments are implementing several schemes for the benefit of the community. He announced Rs. 5 lakh for construction of shed at the temple complex, which was the long pending demand of the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma said that realising the need to uplift the backward sections of the society, the present coalition government has announced setting up of OBC and Kissan Welfare Boards. He said that every effort is on reaching out the benefits of development equitably to all sections. He directed the Director Floriculture to start the work of development of park in the mandir complex within a fortnight.

Mr. Sharma announced a hospital for Mishriwala there by fulfilling the long pending demand of the people. He said that the estimated cost of hospital building is Rs. 1.62 crore and Rs. 50 lakh has been released as first instalment for the purpose.

Stating that Health department is slush with funds, Health Minister informed that for the first time Rs. 59 crore each has been earmarked for development of Health facilities in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. He said Rs. 6.90 has been kept for upgradation of health facilities for Ladakh region. He said that the present government is working for development all three regions of the state and the manner in which the government managed to get the sanction for two Central Universities for both the regions of the state reflects the seriousness of the government on the issue.
