| NC holds meet of district presidents, newly nominated office bearers | | Farooq assures redressal of problems | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 18- The Provincial unit of National Conference organized a meeting of district presidents, MLAs, MLCs and newly nominated office bearers from Jammu province. The participants at the meeting highlighted the problems of their respective areas. The main problems highlighted included loss of Kharief crops due to drought and hailstorm, slow pace of work on various development works and growing unemployment problem. Participants urged upon the party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah to address the problems of the common masses as were promised during the elections. They also raised the issues having direct bearing on the common man like bad roads, street lightning, drinking water, electricity and improper drainage system. After hearing patiently the grievances and the problems of the participants, Party President Dr Abdullah assured them that all the problems highlighted would be solved after taking these with the concerned authorities. Dr. Abdullah insisted upon the participants to work collectively to strengthen coalition government in the region and enable the coalition government to execute its programs and projects smoothly. Dr. Abdullah informed the workers that he would be visiting to every district headquarter from next month, under mass contact program, so that the workers of ground level will get a chance to interact with him. Commenting over the unemployment, he said that government is coming out with a concrete policy to end the menace which would be made public on December 5, 2009. While addressing the meeting Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta apprised the party president Dr. Abdullah about the activities of the party leaders. While giving details, he informed the party President that during last couple of months he along-with his team visited Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri Samba and Billawar-Basoli districts. He also informed the President about the miseries of the people which he has observed during his tour to these districts. He however assured Dr. Farooq that the party rank and file is working unitedly to strengthen the party in their respective areas.
