| Farooq’s 48-hr deadline is over | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 18: National Conference President and Union Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah’s self-framed 48-hour deadline to the Special Investigation Team probing weapon fudging in Amandeep murder case has been overrun but still there is no clue about the key conspirators including Chowdhary Nagar Singh and his brothers Ujjagar and Rakesh Singh. In backdrop of his party legislators meeting the accused Police officers in central jail, Farooq had asked the SIT on October 15 to arrest Nagar Singh and his brothers Ujjagar and Rakesh. The deadline has long passed but the Chowdhary trio still remains untraced. Interestingly, while setting deadline, Farooq had not mentioned what if SIT fails to arrest them in 48 hours. Meanwhile, sources said, the SIT working under the supervision of DIG Jammu-Kathua Farooq Khan has almost fully cracked the case with all its aspects except for the arrest of Chowdhary trio. Challan in the case is required to be presented in the case on October 28.
