Narrow escape for Trikuta Nagar residents

Jammu, Oct 18: A truck containing electronic goods was reduced to ashes in the Deepawali night besides residents of Basant Vihar area had narrow escape as timely action of police averted bigger tragedy when it shifted a petrol tanker standing by the truck on fire.
On Deepawali night when revelers were busy bursting crackers a rocket reportedly fell on truck laden with LG electronic products including 180 Televisions, 21 washing machines and 5 LCD TVs. The truck was owned by one Ranjit Singh son of Madan Singh. He had to deliver the consignment in Srinagar the next day, eye witnesses informed. On having information a Trikuta Nagar police team reached on the spot for rescue operation. Police also shifted a petrol tanker parked by truck in fire, eyewitnesses further informed. The services of firefighters were also pressed but till then all the electronic products burnt into ashes. Police has registered a case in this regard.
