Jammu, Oct 19 Popularly known as the 'farmers festival', the week-long Jhiri Mela will commence here from November 2.
One of the biggest festival, the mela would commence from November and arrangements for the same have been reviewed here, District Development Commissioner, M K Dwivedi told reporters here.
He also said that the master plan of the mela site has been prepared and the government is planning to construct Yatri Niwas.
Dwivedi said that the site would also include approach road, lanes, drains, solid waste management, liquid waste management projects and restricting encroachments in the area.
Fire tenders and traffic police have been asked to ensure safety and smooth functioning at the mela site, the Commissioner said.
