| Kotwal for face lifting of town before Darbar Move | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, OCTOBER 19 Taking stock of Darbar Move preparations being made by different departments, the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal asserted that all arrangements ought to be completed well in time without comprising on quality.
Enquiring about the pace of under execution works as well those executed so far in a meeting of senior officers convened here today, Dr. Kotwal said that face lifting including whitewash, repair and renovation of government quarters and other residential buildings housing darbar move employees should be done in time to the utter satisfaction of inhabitants. He said that the repair and blacktopping of main roads as well the adjoining lanes should be completed besides PHE and PDD arrangements regarding adequate water, uninterrupted power supply and replacement of worn out and old non-functional pipes, wires was also reviewed. The drainage/sewerage system, street lights, preparation of ration cards were also taken stock of.
Discussing the security arrangements, it was apprised that sufficient security would be provided at entry points. Regarding traffic, the Divisional Commissioner asked the SSP Traffic to ensure smooth regulation of vehicular movement particularly the darbar move employees’ buses and other related traffic vehicles. Dr. Kotwal gave instructions for restoring communication links and stressed for ensuring all telephones are functional before the move offices open here.
The officers assured to complete all remaining works well before the darbar move.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. M. K. Dviwedi, Commissioner JMC, Mr. Mubarak Singh, SSP Traffic, SSP Jammu, Director CAPD, senior officers from police and civil administration were present in the meeting.
