| Fake currency racket: printer, more currency seized | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 20: Bus stand police has seized instruments including computer and printer used for preparing fake currency notes besides rupees 17000 fake notes more today. While executing a raid in Rajouri area. Manhunt to arrest other persons involved, is going on. In the latest development on fake currency racket unearthed, bus stand police on the disclosure of the arrested six persons conducted a raid in the house of one Daultat Shah son of Rasool Shah of Rajouri area and seized a computer and printer from his house while Daulat managed to escape, sources informed. Police has smelt their links with militants and is penetrating deep into the racket. Interrogation of the arrested persons are also on to elicit information to dig out the roots of the racket as police is of the view that the paper used to print fake currency notes has been smuggled from Pakistan with arms and ammunition. During interrogation of the arrested persons from Jammu, including Varinder Sharma, a cop posted at District Jail Ambphalla, Abdul Hamid son of Alamdin resident of Sunjwan presently working as supervisor with Jammu Municipal Corporation, Davinder Sharma son of Kamal Sharma resident of Mastgarh, Abdul Majid resident of Rajouri Rajinder Sharma resident of Pacci Dhaki and Khalid Munshi son of former NC block president of Doda, police came to know about their other companion who is the kingpin of the racket and instrumental to prepare fake currency notes and accordingly a raid was conducted in his residence at Rajouri but the accused managed to escape. Police is interrogating them to know how they managed fine paper used to print Indian currency.
