2 brothers among 8 dead, 16 injured in isolated mishaps

Jammu Oct 20: On third continuous day of mayhem on the roads, at least eight persons were today killed in isolated cases of road accidents in different parts of Jammu region.
Among the killed were two brothers. A tractor trolley skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge at Nalee village in Akhnoor, 37 kms from here, early today, the Police said, adding two brothers -- Rattan Lal and Kuldeep Raj-- died on the spot.
An army jawan Raguvir Singh died on the spot and two others were injured when a car and an army vehicle collided at Udhampur, 65 kms from here, last night, they said.
Om Singh and Dheeraj Singh, who were injured in the accident, were admitted to a hospital.
Police spokesman said that a Motorcycle (JK02P-2509) fell down into Canal near Langotian, resulting in on spot death of Motorcyclist Kartar Singh son of Khajan Singh resident of Khour Bhouian. Case FIR No. 130/09 under section 279, 304-A RPC stands registered by Police Station Miran Sahib.
Another Motorcycle (JK02AC-8644) on way from Katra to Jammu slipped at Juhi Plaza, Katra, resulting in injuries to two persons. Both the injured were rushed to hospital where Atul Abrol succumbed to his injuries.
A Matador (JK02P-4048) on way from Janipura Colony to City hit with Electric Pole at Sagat Chowk Janipura and rolled down, resulting in on spot death of Parmjit Sharma son of Perma Nand Sharma resident of Chatroo and injuries to two persons. Both the injured were hospitalized.
A Motorcycle slipped and fell down into Canal at Bana Chack, resulting in on spot death of Girdhari Lal son of Hari Ram Sharma and injuries to Ranjit Choudhary son of Jasbir Singh. The injured was hospitalized. Police has registered a case in this regard. An accident took place between a Truck (JK02B-9329) and Auto Load Carrier (JK02E-9576) near Nandni DC Office Morh, resulting in on spot death of Auto driver namely Deepak Gupta son of Omkar Chand Gupta resident of Sanjay Nagar.
Maruti Car (JK02B-1101) on way from Udhampur to Rehmble hit with Army vehicle which was stranded at Supply Morh near Chinar Theater, resulting in on spot death of Raghubir Singh son of Ram Singh and injuries to two persons. Both the injured were hospitalized.
Meanwhile nine other persons were admitted in GMC Jammu after they were injured in different road accidents in Jammu.
