Give up confrontational path for the sake of patients: CCI
10/20/2009 11:40:03 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 20: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) has expresses strong resentment and dismay over the insensitive and apathetic approach of both the sides involved in the stand off between government authorities and agitating medicos. The impasse as per CCI has created seems to be the result of loss of government’s creditability because invariably whenever some agitation is called off on the assurance of the government authorities, that assurance proves to be a ploy to avoid the situation, but the issues keep on hanging afire as the promises are either never fulfilled or delayed to the limit that compels the agitating party to restart the suspended stir.
As per handout issued today the present crisis has assumed such an alarming dimension that no body seems worried about the plight of poor patients and sufferers who can not afford the costlier treatment in the private points.
The latest warning of the agitating doctors to extend the agitation in the peripheral health centre and hospitals in retaliation to the hardening stand of the authorities is likely to create very dangerous and alarming situation.
Chamber of Commerce and Industries appeals to both the sides to use restrain and leave the confrontational path so that the poor and ailing people are not made to suffer for no fault of theirs and added government should take new initiative to restore the faith and confidence of the agitators that whatever the promises made for resolving the crises will be fulfilled before the announced date and the other party should also walk a step ahead to provide relief to the humanity which is the prime duty and commitment of a doctor.
