Rs 37,600 recovered in RTO raids

JAMMU, OCTOBER 20 Regional Transport Officer, Jammu along with Assistant Regional Transport Officers and other staff checked various types of vehicles on the National Highway 1A at Nagrota Bantalab, Sidhra Bye Pass, Panjtirthi, Raipur Satwari, Mandal Phallain and Sumb Top on today. Violations of overloading, route permits, uniforms were observed and 28 violators were challaned. 30 violations were compounded on the spot and compound money to the tune of Rs.37,600/- was recovered. Besides, 2 mini buses were seized for violation of route permits.

The vehicle operators were warned not to make violations of Motor Vehicle Act and Rules in future. They were advised to adhere to the time table frmaed and do not remain parked at Satwari chowk for unreasonable time. They were also advised not to use tape recorders and mobile phones while driving and stop the vehicles at the right place.
