| Misappropriated Rs.one lakh | | CBI presents Challan against Senior Clerk Railways | |
Jammu, October, 02 Central Bureau of Investigation has presented Challan against Ram Pal senior clerk of section engineer works Jammu Railway, who according to the Challan during the period 1996 to 1997 and 2000 to 2004, dishonestly and fraudulently and by using his official position committed of offence of cheating and criminal breach of trust by way of collecting the amount from the shopkeepers under the jurisdiction Railway premises on behalf of railways, but he did not account for the same in the Government exchequer and thereby caused wrongful loss to the Government exchequer and wrongful gain to himself. According to the Challan during investigation it was found that Rs 1,22,196/- was not deposited by Ram Pal in the office of Chief Booking Supervisor Jammu Tawi, the DTC book of the relevant period does not show the receipt of such amount. After obtaining the opinion of the hand-writing experts, the hand-writing of Ram pal found in money receipts proves that documents were prepared by Ram Pal as such he committed offence u/s 409/271 RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 and after the completion of the investigation Challan was presented. The accused Ram Pal filed bail application for seeking bail, Senior Public Prosecutor SK Bat appearing for the CBI, who filed this Challan submitted that investigating agency had not arrested the accused during the investigation, upon this Mr. JR Kotwal Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu held that now charge-sheet has been filed in this Court, accused has been found entitled to bail. The application of bail is allowed,. accused is admitted to bail subject to his furnishing personal bond along with surety in the amount of Rs 20,000/- each.
