Srinagar, Oct 22: Panic gripped the Civil Lines area when a girl jumped into river Jehlum from Amira Kadal bridge, near here official sources said today.
All efforts to save her failed, sources added.
The body of the girl, identified as Shazia alias Jooli, was fished out later from a distance.
Police is looking into the affairs but the reason of taking this extreme step is yet unknown.
