Srinagar, October 22- The concept of Awami Mulaqat initiated by young Chief Minister of J&K State, Mr. Omar Abdullah bringing entire government to the doorsteps of people is attaining popularity as thousands of delegations and people thronged from wee hours at Anantnag to have one to one meeting with the Chief Minister

Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah today reached Anantnag along with cabinet Ministers Peerzada Mohammad Syed, Ms. Sakina Itoo, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon, Advisor Mr. Mubarak Gul, Member Parliament Dr.Mehboob Baig, MLC Mr. Altaf Ahmad Kaloo, Director General of Police Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and other Principal Secretaries, Commissioner Secretaries, Head of Departments and other senior Civil and Police officers. Where thousand of people were present to submit their demands.

Representatives of the people, delegation of all adjoining villages, persons from different walks of life were given free access to the Chief Minister enabling them to discuss different issues with them in a free and frank atmosphere. The Chief Minister after giving patient hearing to each issue and discussing the same with administrative machinery presented on spot issued appropriate orders. Wherever he found that any collective demand of any delegation was genuine and needs immediate action he in consultation with the concerned cabinet minister, concerned Commissioner Secretary and concerned Head of Department took the decision for immediate redressal. The issues which were pending for decades together were solved on spot.

The single line administration which was started by Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah always proved helpful in taking district level decision and it was continued by all of his successors. The Awami Mulaqat concept of deciding individual cases and the area wise cases with entire administration available to listen the cases in detail and taking appropriate decision on the spot has been appreciated throughout the State and is being considered as one step ahead of single line administration. The confidence of the people is getting day by day strengthened when Chief Minister remains available with them alongwith the entire administrative machinery.

The Anantnag today had a festive look when people heard that the Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah will be stationed in the district and meeting people individually and collectively. The problems with regard to irrigation, PHE, Water supply, de-silting of canals, repair of transformers, installation of electric poles, ST & HT lines, repair and reconstruction of roads, lanes and by-lanes were presented before the Chief Minister who continued to issue on spot decision on each issue.
