Romesh vows to take CCI new height

Jammu, Oct 22: After the gap of 9 years and 10 months, the elections for various portfolios including president of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries scheduled on 28th October were kick started on Wednesday at Jammu. Candidates are doing every effort to convenience 1508 voters entitled to case their vote. Campaigning entered in intensifying mood today when one of the candidates, out of total three, in fray for the president’s election intended to reach out to the members to vote through media.
Romesh Chander Gupta, twice ex-Present JCCI, while addressing media persons assured that if voted to power will take the CCI to new heights by introducing new dimensions and change the prevailing unfavorable modalities. He laid stressed for constructing roads, infrastructure and power.
Seeking mass support to make Jammu as a hub of business, Gupta said that need to marginalize the gap between government, bureaucracy and industrialists has become mandatory for the better interests of business community, for which he assured to strive with full dedication.
Gupta said that government has ignored Jammu in pilgrimage tourism, horticulture oriented potential exploitation and image of traders and industrialists has been projected in such a way that tax department employees are hell bent to harass them. He assured that after taking the reigns all efforts to streamline the situation and to restore the image of traders and industrialists would be done at priority.
Replying to a question Gupta said that Existing team manipulated the situation which to non conduction of elections for the last about ten years as term of constitution is of two years. He assured that constitutional amendment would be brought so that the elections should be held at the end of every two years term. He said government also would be made accountable for various parameters for which it has remained ignored.
“Trade means give and take not the exchange of goods of similar nature” Said Gupta citing trade across LoC and added that it is worth confusion that commodities sent from that sides coincides with those shifted from this side. He said without the basic facilities such trade is meaning less. He assured that after resuming the power he will definitely made the trade across LoC meaningful.
