| Commerce College debates global warming | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, OCTOBER 23 -A symposium on the topic ‘Global Warming’ was organized in Govt. SPMR College of Commerce in collaboration with Directorate of Environment Ecology and Remote sensing.
Deputy Conservator of Environment and Remote Sensing J&K, Dr. R. C. Sharma presided over the function. Prof. Uma Sharma from Patanjali Yog Samiti briefed the students regarding the medicinal value of plants. Plantation of medicinal plants was done within the college premises. The Principal Prof. Hemla Aggarwal in her address exhorted the students to aware the society about the menace of Global Warming.
The first prize in the symposia competition was won by Huma Khan, while Rituraj Kashyap and Gursimran Singh bagged the second and third prizes respectively Dr. Mousmi Raina and Mr. K.K. Verma, Lecturers in Environment Sciences organized the programme.
A book exhibition on Commerce, Management Studies and Information Technology was organized in the Commerce laboratory by Prof. Youdhvir Singh, HOD Commerce of the college. The same was formally inaugurated by Dr. N.D. Wani, Director Colleges, Higher Education. The teaching faculty and students after the hectic participation selected the books for the collage.
