| Bhagat reviews progress of RD works in Samba | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, OCTOBER 23 - Director, Rural Development, Jammu, Mr J L Bhagat conducted an extensive tour to Purmandal and Vijaypur blocks of Samba district to take stock of all developmental schemes being implemented by the Rural Development Department (RDD).
During the inspection of model village Rajinder Pura of block Purmandal it was observed that there are some shortfalls in completion of buildings and other allied works. He issued on spot directions to the executing agency to get it completed by the end of October 2009. He directed BDO Satwari to deploy JE to block Purmandal on special duty for 15 days for completion of above said model village being incharge of said model village with directions to complete the model village within the stipulated period otherwise disciplinary action as warranted under rules shall be initiated against him.
While reviewing the progress under NREGA, IAY, SGSY, 12th FC etc it has been observed that the progress under all heads is very low and issued instructions to all the BDO, DPO, ACD of district Samba to spend funds more than 60% under Centrally Sponsored Schemes so that UCs could be furnished to the government of India and 2nd instalment could be realized in due course of time and ensure completion of maximum works under NREGA, IAY so that benefits of these schemes could be percolated to the downtrodden/needy people.
Mr Bhagat also asked BDO Samba for taking up the construction of toilet block comprising of 32 units at Dwarka Puri in block Samba to redress long pending demand of people of adjoining areas.
