Jammu, Oct 24: Meet the author programme with the renowed Dogri writer Yash Sharma was held at KL Sehgal hall here today.
The outset of the programme convenor Dogri advisory board Prof. Veena Gupta, introduced Yash Sharma as a significant dogri poet, singer, play-wrighter and a actor who has been adding new dimensions to dogri lyrics for the last six decades.
Yash Sharma, she said has contributed in a significant manner to the development of dogri literature and language, is well known for his dogri lyrics especially gets and is considered to be a pioneer in this field. Yash Sharma during the programme regaled the audience with his poetry full of imagery, emotions and romantic flavour. While discussing the process of his creativity he also shared many anecdotes out of his eventful life which include his collge days memories, his intimate relations with literary personalities and also some experience of life during his service, rendered at radio Kashmir, Srinagar and radio Kashmir Jammu.
Prof. Lalit Magotra, president of Dogri Sanstha who presided over the programe said that Yash Sharma’s contribution to dogri literature can never be forgotten. He is one of the troika of the poets of Dogri who gave new heights to dogri poetry. Other members of this troika were Ved Pal Deep and Kehri Singh Madhukar, he said.
The programme was attended by a large number of literature, prominent citizens, and intellectuals. On this occasion a very lively interaction was held between the speaker and literary, personalities of the region.
