| Safai Karamchari held protest | | | Early Times Report
Kathua: Safai Karamchari Union held a protest rally in support of their long pending demands of regularization of safai karamchari who are working as daily wagers and contractual in the municipalities of Jammu region for the last more than 7 years. The procession of the safai karamchari lead by Savan Chita started from the premises of the Kathua Municipal Council upto Kathua Mini Secretariat admits chanting slogans against the director local bodies Jammu, ‘J&K Govt down-down’ and ‘regularize the daily wagers and contractual safai karamchari’.
Chita said that karamcharis already submitted many charter of demands for regularization of daily wagers and causal workers in the municipalities of a Jammu regions but the govt. has not taken it seriously while the director of local bodies has given full assurance to regularise all the contractual-daily wagers. He further said that parent organisation Jammu rural safai karamchari union has given the call for kaam choro hartal to be extended upto 26th of October. He further warned the govt. if the grievances are not addressed the Kaam Choro Hartal will be turned into an indefinite strike.
