Over Rs. 1.83 lakh recovered from traffic violators

JAMMU, OCTOBER 24-Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Mr J S Manhas alongwith Assistant Regional Transport Officers and other staff checked various types of vehicles on the National Highway 1A from Satwari to Samba, Ghagwal today.

Violations of overloading, route permits, uniforms were observed and 17 violators were challaned. About 70 violators were compounded on the spot and an amount of Rs.1,83,500/- was recovered.

The vehicle operators were warned not make violations of Motor Vehicle Act and Rules in future. They were advised to adhere to the time table framed and not use type recorder, mobile phones while driving and also stop the vehicles at the designated stops only.
