| Core Group reviews security | | | Early Times Report Jammu ,Oct 24: A Core Group Meeting was held today at Headquarters 16 Corps, Nagrota, under the Chairmanship of General Officer Commanding 16 Corps and Security Advisor Lieutenant General Rameshwar Roy, AVSM, YSM. The meeting was attended by DGP, Senior Civil, Police, PMF and Army Officers which included Commissioner SB, Additional Divisional Commissioner Jammu, IG CRPF, IG BSF and Joint Director IB and other officials. General Officers Commanding of various formations affiliated to 16 Corps were also present for the meeting. The meeting reviewed the security situation in Jammu region in light of the forthcoming Darbar Move to the winter capital scheduled in early November. The Security Advisor complimented the security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for achieving a high degree of synergy, coordination and efficient handling of the Internal Security during the recent festival season. He stated that there is a need to be extra vigilant in view of the recent increase of infiltration attempts and large recovery of arms and ammunition in the region. He stated that the turbulent situation across the border needs the security forces to be more proactive in order to ensure no infiltration attempts succeed and to ensure that the present state of normalcy is maintained and peace ensured at all costs.
