| Trooper injured in ceasefire breach | | | Early Times Report Poonch, Oct 24: In a fresh case of ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops on Saturday fired on an Indian post in Mendhar sector of Poonch district leaving an Army jawan injured. Pakistani troops, using LMGs and MMGs, fired on Kripan post in Mendhar sector of this border district from 0930 hours to 1030 hours, defence sources said, adding they fired approximately 500 rounds.However, Indian troops did not retaliate and the firing stopped after 1030 hours. But now reports suggest that Pak rangers resumed firing. A jawan, Om Bahadur, sustained bullet wounds in the firing and was hospitalised, they said. Pakistani troops have been violating the ceasefire by opening firing on a few occasions. On September 21, Pakistani troops had fired nearly 135 rounds on Indian positions in the district.BSF troops open fire after suspicious movement near IB BSF troops opened fire after observing suspicious movement along the International Border of Kathua district in Jammu division, BSF officials said on Saturday. A patrolling party of BSF noticed suspicious movement along the border near Pansar area in Hiranagar sector past midnight, they said, adding the security forces in an attempt to thwart any kind of intrusion opened fire. However, there was no casualty or injury reported to any one, they said.
