Jammu: Two-day Business Fest, Lakhshya.09 jointly organized by The Business School (TBS) and Kathua Campus, University of Jammu concluded today. During the two-days, over 125 participants from 11 State level management institutions participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. A total of four activities were conducted including Quiz-o-Mania, Ad Guru, MBAians Got Talent and Tetromino. TBS, JU was declared as the outstanding team for overall performance for Lakshya.09
In ‘Quiz-o-Mania’, the team from MIET College, Jammu represented by Prayas and Ritika stood first. The second prize was won by the team from Islamic University, Kashmir represented by Sajid and Farhan. The third prize was won by the team from TBS, JU represented by Aakash and Rishi.
In ‘Ad-Guru’ the participating teams were asked to create innovative advertisements on ‘Brand India as a destination in the international market’. The team from Kathua campus of University of Jammu represented by Vinay, Vandana, Nitesh and Kunal bagged the first prize for their creative ad. The second prize went to the team from SMVDU (MBA) comprising of Eroz, Anil, Sapna and Neha followed by the team from BGSBU including Ahtsham, Manzoor, Tahira and Jamshed taking the third prize.
In ‘MBAians Got Talent’ students showcased their talent in various art forms like music and dance (solo and group) and acting. The top three winners in the solo performance were Neha Jamwal from TBS, JU, Meenakshi Pandita from SET business school and Roma Devi from SMVDU (MBA) respectively. In the Group performances, the first prize went to Kathua Campus (Kunal, Priyanka, Gaurav and Jyoti) , second prize was bagged by MBS, Jammu (Karandeep, HarSimranjeet, Prerna and Rabindar) followed by TBS, JU (Gurpreet, Rameshwari, Rahul, Haarit, Anuj and Harsh) fetching the third prize. In ‘Tetromino’, the teams were asked to prepare and present a comprehensive Business Plan which was judged by Mr Vikram Gupta (CEO, Airmesh), Rohit Pandita (Enterpreneur) and Akhil Chopra (Branch Head, HDFC). The team from TBS, JU represented by Meena, Rishi, Anuj and Sahil won the first prize. The second prize was won by IMS represented by Sameer, Priyanka, Vivek and Tahir. The team from MBS, Jammu represented by Sakshi, Supriya, Akshi and Deepika won the third prize..
During the event, there was an enthralling performance by the popular fusion band of J&K, ‘Aspiration’ lead by Anmol Amla. Their performance added fervor to the atmosphere and the excitement reflected with an overwhelming response by the audience. Lakshya’09 concluded with the valedictory session and the prize distribution ceremony. Mr B K Kaul, GM, Marketing & Sales, Reliance, Jammu was the Chief Guest for the session. All the winners were awarded certificates and trophies. All the participants were also given certificates.
Mr. Kaul in his address said that such events build in confidence among the students and help them to relate to the working of the corporate world. Concluding the Fest, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director, The Business School, appreciated the efforts of the TBS Team and congratulated for the success of the event. Prof. Ashok Aima, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies, Prof. J R Dhotra, Rector, Kathua Campus and Prof. B C Sharma, Dean Student Placements were also present during the Valedictory Function. Rameshwari and Farah, students of MBA conducted the proceedings during the Valedictory Function.
