| JKNPP to celebrate Oct 27 as Accession Day | | | Early Times Report Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today announced to celebrate October 27 Accession of J&K with India as National Integration Day. Announcing this in a press conference today, JKNPP Chairman Prof Bhim Singh said 62nd Anniversary of the Accession of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India shall be celebrated at Abhinav Theater with a cultural programme followed by deliberations by political and social activists from different schools of thought. Dr Yogender Makwana, former Union Minister Home shall be the Chief Guest while similar celebrations shall be held in Srinagar and Leh on the same day, he informed and said that this programme is organized by the Voice of Millions Publications and Council of promotion of Dogri Language, Culture and History with invitation to all the political parties and Bar association Jammu, Mahajan, Brahamah, Rajput Sabhas and other NGO. Prof Singh said that it is shocking that the national Conference and Congress which has been ruling in the State since 1947 never cared to remember this Great day which has importance not (not) less than the 26th of January, 1950 for the people of India. ‘It should be mandatory in J&K to celebrate this day as is done in case of 15th August or 26th January so that the new generations also learn about our History’, he maintained. It is to mention that Maharaja Hari Singh offered Accession on 26th Oct 1947 which was accepted by the Governor-General of India of 27th day of October, 1947.On the request of VP Menon, the Union Home Secretary Maharja Hari Singh drove to Jammu from Srinagar throughout the night between 25/26 October and reached Jammu on 26th October.
