NC-Cong non serious towards apathy of common people: BJP
10/25/2009 10:59:06 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu: Bhartiya Janata Party, State President, Ashok Khajuria asked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to tell the public if there exists any government in the state, if yes, what kind of government he is heading ? He said there is chaos and confusion over the existence of government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashok Khajuria, while addressing media persons here today took the NC-Congress coalition to task for its total failure to come up to the expectations of the people. He said even the people who opposed BJP and voted overwhelmingly in favour of the NC and Congress candidates in the last assembly election and returned them to the state assembly are now feeling betrayed. Their expectations with the coalition have dashed to the ground as nothing concrete has been done on ground for the welfare of the people. Ashok Khajuria, while extending his party’s unstinted support to the just cause of the agitating Junior Doctors in the state, said that the government is not serious over breaking the deadlock by conceding to the genuine demands of their .He said in a democracy, every one has a right to demand what he deserve in a peaceful manner and the Junior doctors are doing the same in a peaceful way but the adamant posture of the government has deteriorated the situation as a result of which thousands of patients across the state are made to suffer in absence of proper functioning of the government hospitals. It is the duty of every elected government to take care of the needs of the public and ensure that they get essential services without any hindrances. So the government, instead of making it an ego issue, should immediately call the doctors on table for talks and find out a solution.
Ashok Khajuria said how unfortunate it is that the government has also not bothered to end the strike of the SRTC and Housing Board employees, who are agitating for months now for their genuine demands. We can not understand as to why the NC-Congress coalition under Omar Abdullah has not taken seriously the agitations by the employees of various departments due to which the general public has to suffer.
Our senior citizens, the aged pensioners, who hold very high respect, too are being made to come on roads for redressal of their genuine demands. It is shame on part of the government and its ministers and MLAs, who do not care even for the elders of the society and compel them to agitate in an age when they need rest and care by others, Khajuria said.
On the development front too, less said is better. No need to go any where. Just have a round of the Jammu city and see the condition of the roads which are in shambles. Piles of sand, dust and traffic jams have become a matter of routine as the roads have been dug in an unplanned manner by the NBCC without caring for the smooth movement of public and the vehicle
