MIET visits old age home donates commodities needed in winter

JAMMU ,Oct 25

NSS Unit of Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) organized a visit to an old age home at Amphalla. Faculty as well as the students of the college contributed with full enthusiasm for the noble cause. MIET donated various products required in the approaching chilly season. Along with, various daily use items and eatables were also distributed among the oldies.

MIET made a small attempt to bring happiness on the faces of people who have lost hope from their lives. The students of MIET along with their faculty organized various activities so that everyone in the old age home forgets their pain and sorrows and enjoy their life as they used to. The students started with interaction which acted as a motivated tool for the in the old age got the feeling of care and affection and they did not feel neglected. Interaction also led to solve the problem of many people in the old age. After interacting, students performed some cultural activities like singing some devotional and old songs so as to enlighten their hearts which also encourage old age people to recite and made the environment full of joy, thrill, and happiness.

College team also helped people in their work and organized lunch for them. Thery also played some games with them so that they try to forget all the worries and enjoy their life to the fullest. The oldest member of the old age home is Mr. Gori Shanker from katra. He is 105 years old. Principal Brig. S.K.Sharma was also present there. He motivated students and guided them to visit such places regularly, not only to donate but also to spent time with them. He emphasized on social development of the students besides the professional knowledge through the studies. PARAYAAS, the NSS wing of MIET keeps on organizing various such social activities under the guidance of the conveyor Mr. B.B.Mehmi.
