| “Doctors forgetting their moral responsibilities” | | | Early Times Report Doda, Oct 25 President Greater Doda Youth Development Forum (GDYDF) Iqbal Wani has strongly condemned the on going strike of junior doctors in the State. Terming the strike of junior doctors as ethically wrong Wani in a press statement issued to the press said,” The doctors have no right to play with the lives of poor and innocent people of the State and leave them to suffer .Hundreds of patients, especially from remote areas like Doda have been made to suffer without any fault of theirs. Coming down heavily on the junior doctors for their blackmailing tactics and reported threat to resign en mass , Wani said that the junior doctors ,have become too self centered and adamant with regard to their demands without realizing that it is the tax payer’s hard earned money which has been spent on their education.”. It has now been 21 days since the junior doctors have not reported on duty and this has severely affected the patient care system in the State. The demands of the doctors are genuine and the Government has also in principle agreed to look into the same, then why are the doctors not responding to the call of duty Wani questioned.” The doctors are looked upon by the public with reverence and regard but such blackmailing and selfishness has certainly blemished the image of the doctor community,” he added. He called upon the doctors to report back on duty in the interest of suffering patients of the State.
