| Committee urges for early implementation of Government Assurances | | | Srinagar, October 03
To further strengthen faith in democratic system, the Assurance Committee of Legislative Assembly stressed the need for early implementation of Government Assurances held out on the Floor of the House from time to time in response to the issues of public importance raised by Members. The Committee has asked the concerned departments to furnish the Action Taken Reports to the Assembly Secretariat at the earliest for perusal.
The Assurance Committee that met here today with MLA Mr. M.Y.Tarigami in Chair and took stock of the Government Assurances given on the Floor of House from time to time.
The Committee was apprised that till date, the Forest, Finance, Rural Development, Ladakh Affairs, Education, Social Welfare, Industries & Commerce Departments have furnished the Action Taken Reports on Government Assurances and ATRs are still awaited from a number of Government Departments.
The Committee directed the Assembly Secretariat to take up with the remaining departments and obtain ATRs expeditiously so that the Committee could complete its task at the earliest.
Those present in the meeting include legislators, Mr. M.S.Akhoon, Mr. Kafil-ur-Rehman, Mr. Gharu Ram, Additional Secretary Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Ramzan and others. |
