| Dialogue only solution: Soz | | | Early times Report Jammu, Oct 26: Speaking on the seminar today on Post- election challenges in J&K, under the auspices of institute of peace research and action, Prof. Saiffudin (MP) president J&K Pradesh Congress Committee emphasized that a decisive dialogue was the only way to sort out issues in J&K state. He further said that the people of Kashmir have rejected violence as an instrument of setting issues and it is now possible to move forward to sort out issues through a dialogue. Prof. Soz also said that several confidence building measures are in the pipe line and initiatives will be taken by the central government in normal course. Personally speaking, CBMs that come up in the wake of the impending dialogue will have a greater impact and significance, Prof. Soz said. Meanwhile, Capt. Praveen Davar, secretary AICC, I/C J&K, addressed a meeting of senior congress leaders of Jammu division, including PCC office bearers, DCC and BCC presidents and chiefs of frontal organizations at the PCC office today morning. The AICC secretary explained the details of the party membership drive in the state and asked the senior leaders of the party to intensify efforts so that the membership drive can be a great success. He emphasized that greater stress should be laid on enrolling women, youth, minorities, dalits and weaker sections of the society. The party membership drive will conclude on December 31st, 2009 and a review will be taken of the progress till October 31st, 2009. The AICC secretary later left for Srinagar where he will address senior leaders of the Kashmir division tomorrow morning. Among others who were present at the PCC office were Dharam Pal Sharma, Amrit Malhotra, Yashpal Khajuria, Ravinder Sharma, S. Amolak Singh, Hans Raj Bhagat, Maheshwar Singh, Manmohan Singh, Rajni Bala, Om Chopra, Bharat Gandhi, BB Gupta, S Kirtan Singh, RK Bajaj, Madan Lal Malagar, Mian Nazir Ahmed and Ram Malhotra.
