| Week long programme on environment awareness conclude | | | Early Times report Jammu, Oct 26: A week long programme on environment awareness held under the aegis of ministry of environment and forests, government of India and state pollution control board concluded here today. During the week the school children through mass contact disseminated the message for protecting the environment and to protect the life on the planet. In the valedictory function, government girls middle school organized the function in its premises where MJ Sharma conservator of forests Chenab circle, was chief guest YR Thusoo chief education officer, Qamar-ud-Din divisional forests officers Abdul Rehman Butt zonal education officer, CL Thakur advocate and social worker and environmentalist and Attulla Nehru district co-ordinator National Green Corps were present on the occasion. Beside this function was attended by cross section of people of the area. To mark the occasion the school children through stage performances, public speeches and nooker Natak successfully delivered the message on the need of saving environment. Speaking on the occasion the speakers including the representatives of the community explained the deteriorating environmental conditions all over the world, their bad effects and the measures to be taken to prevent further deterioration.
