| Vigilance booked Revenue Collector for misappropriation of Rs 16 lacs | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 26: Vigilance Organization Jammu today registered a case against Shiban Lal Dhar the then Revenue Collector of J&K House Chanakayapuri New Delhi during his posting from July 26, 2002 to March 27, 2007 has misappropriated of Rs 16, 94, 948/- recovered by him as a rent and not deposited. According to the enquiry conducted to the allegations of misappropriation of revenue (room rent, water/electricity charges) realized from guests on account of hired room in J&K House Chanakayapuri New-Delhi. Shiban a Supervisor of Food & Supplies Dept of J&K New-Delhi then attached in the office of Resident Commissioner New-Delhi and was allotted work as Revenue Collector. The enquiry further reveals that Shiban had not deposited the amount collected by him from RTO with the cashier of the Resident Commissioner New Delhi and dishonestly misappropriated Rs. 16, 94, 948/-. By this act as Public Servant (now retired) a huge corresponding loss to the state exchequer and a case u/s 5(1) (c), 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 r/w section 409 RPC, investigation is going on and no arrest has been made so far.
