| Court rejected bail application of six accused facing trial in murder case | | | Jammu, October, 03 First Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. GK Pandita today rejected bail application of Niranjan Singh, Ch Balbir Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Manjeet Singh, Pankaj Sharma and Ravinder Singh, who are facing trial in a murder case of Prithpal Singh alias Lucky and are under trail prisoners. In the rejection order Mr. GK Pandita First Additional Sessions Judge Jammu after hearing APP Mr. Harpal Singh and Advocate RS Thakur and Advocate DS Saini appearing for the accused persons observed that it is pointed out that in cases based on circumstantial evidence, every link in the chain of events and every bit of it is to be collected and evaluated to form an opinion. So arguments advanced by the counsel for the petitioners seem to be premature and so not acceptable. It is too early to comment on merits of the prosecution evidence, as it may pre-judice prosecution and the defense, therefore, better is too wait till the material witnesses in the case are examined. It is true that accused are in custody for the last more than two years, but it is equally true that allegations leveled against them are equally serious. With these observations the Court rejected the bail application because no case for grant of bail is made out at this stage. |
