| Battery car service resumes at Vaishno Devi route | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 26: Vaishno Devi pilgrims finally heaved a sigh of relief after the battery car service, which was suspended five months ago, resumed yesterday up to Bhawan situated in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district, sources here today said. Sources said out of the 20 battery cars, eight were made functional after registration while the remaining would also be pressed into service in coming days. ''Due to the non-fulfillment of some documents, the battery car service from Adh Kuwari to Bhawan remained off track since June 15 and with the registration of eight cars, the service was resumed yesterday afternoon,'' official sources told UNI. Hundreds of pilgrims including elders and disabled had a harrowing time when the battery cars running between Adh Kunwari and Bhawan were ‘taken off’ the route to Vaishno Devi Shrine. The service with 20 battery cars was introduced by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in the year 2004.
