| Jora stresses for collective approach for tourism promotion | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Highlighting the limit less tourism potential of Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora has said that the Stat is globally known as paradise on earth and “we all should work collectively to attract domestic and international tourists to the state to improve economy of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. He was addressing at the opening ceremony of Annual meet of Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) here today. “Almighty has bestowed the state with unparallel natural beauty and scenic splendor. In fact, it is the best destination for varied tourists interest,” he said, laying emphasis on showcasing state’s tourism potential globally. He said besides conventional tourism J&K offers a grand mix of cultural, pilgrim, adventure and heritage tourism. Jora said that there has been a sea-change in the situation since 90s and the atmosphere is highly conducive to promote tourism of all categories. He said that the perception about the situation in the state has to be changed and the mindset among the domestic as well as foreign tourists transformed in positive direction. The Minister said that government is committed to take up all necessary measures for promoting this vital industry in the state. He said the matter for providing more train facilities and increase in air flights to the state would be taken with the concerned ministries of union government so that the tourist could avail their holidays at this paradise at a large scale. Jora said that the matter of adverse advisory has been taken up with different countries by State and Central government’s, expressing that the state would witnesses a large influx of foreign tourists too. He said government is contemplating to organize festivals and road shows in various states of the nation as well as foreign countries and called upon the tourism related associations to offer special packages to the tourists like other states. He urged them to provide better boarding and lodging facilities to the tourists and try to spread a good message of hospitality among tourists so that they could work as brand ambassador of the state’s natural beauty, adventure tourism and hospitality in their states and countries.
