BJP celebrates ‘Accession Day’ with patriotic sprit

Jammu, Oct 27: All elected eleven Bhartiya Janata Party legislators expressed concern over the attitude of state government for not celebrating national festivals like 15th August and 26th January by not lighting the secretariat and other government buildings scheduled for.
Taking strong exceptions BJP legislature party head and senior politician Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta warned that if any body make focus of talks the integration of country would not be tolerated as in parliament it has been resolved in 1994 that only issue pertaining to Kashmir is to get back the Pak occupied Kashmir portion. BJP President Ashok Khajuria and MLA Jugal Mahajan demanded that on the day of accession a holiday should be announced. Activists and workers of BJP lighted candles, lamps and burnt crakers from across the rejoin to celebrate the day.
BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal under the leadership of Vikram Randhawa, its president organized an impressive function at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar to celebrate Accession Day of Jammu and Kashmir with India which took place on Oct. 27, 1947.
Hundreds of people participated in the function. On the occasion the activists of BJP fired crackers and distributed sweets among the locals.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Vikram Randhawa said that it was great Maharaja Hari Singh who willingly and wisely acceded to India while Pakistan tried to annex J&K with force on Oct. 27, 1947 and before this Jammu and Kashmir was a personal state governed by the great visionary, Maharaja Hari Singh.
He further said that Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession of J&K with the Union of India. The then Governor General of free India had come to Jammu and Maharaja also reached here from Srinagar overnight by driving himself for signing the document. This is the day for the people of J&K which had importance not less than the August 15 or January 26. He appealed the people to get involved in spreading the awareness campaign about the day. “It was Maharaja’s great vision that today we are part of great nation like India”, he maintained. Those present on the occasion include Arun Khosla, Ashok Dutta, Shubnandan Verma, Rajiv Langar, Vikas Sharma, Tarsem Choudhary, Tarun Sharma, Aseem Gupta and others.
Meanwhile, Vilay Day (Accession day) was celebrated by the BJP unit of Kathua. Prem Nath Dogra Vice President, said that this day is being the victory day as on this day 27th of Oct 1947 the Maharaja exceeded with the then dominion of India. The day is considered as the victory day for J&K. Janak Bharti, Narinder Jasrotia, Bishan Bharti, Naveen Choudary, Karan Singh, Bishmbar, Madhan Lal were present on this occasion.
