JAMMU, Oct 27: District Kathua girls dominated in under-17 and under-19 age groups taking home the overall championship trophies in both categories while Samba shined in under-14 section in the two-day divisional level inter-district athletics meet concluded today under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports at MA Stadium, here.
While districts of Kathua and Samba were excelling in both field and track events, Jammu girls could not make their presence felt despite having better facilities at their disposal.
Medals and certificates were given away to the winners of three different age groups by Deputy Director DYSS, Madan Lal. Prominent among others presence were district officer, Jai Raj, Manorama Sharma, R C Vaid, Jeet Singh, Sunita Goel, Chanchal Kour, Sarita Padha, Dr Swarn Singh, Surinder Singh and host of other officers.
Meanwhile, competitions in boys section shall start from October 29 at the same venue.
