| 10-day Police remand for scribe | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 27: Special Judge under Enemy Agents Ordinance Jammu BL Bhat today extended 10 days police remand of Farooq Ahmed Ganai Chief of Local News Agency NAK who was arrested by the Nowabad police u/s 74 IT Act, 3 EAO and 120-B RPC. The alleged accused Farooq Ahmed Ganai was produced in the Court in custody today by Dewakar Singh SDPO Domana for extension of police remand. He submitted that since the investigation is in progress and the electric data is yet to be decoded and further more the accused is required to be interrogated with respect to material as may be discovered examination of electronic record further extension in police remand is required. Court heard the accused who is suffering from kidney ailment. While extending 10 days more remand the Special Judge directed Investigating Officer to ensure that in the event of any complicacy treatment be arranged. According to the police accused allegedly is charged of supplying information regarding the activities of security forces and location of Defence installation to ISI of Pakistan and also alleged to have engaged in conspiracy for commission of suppressive activities. During the course of investigation accused has made a sensational disclosure statement leading to recovery of incriminating material including projects of Udhampur-Srinagar Railway. JNF
