| Mufti asks for effective measures for augmentation of drinking water | | | Srinagar, Oct 3 Peoples Democratic Party Patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has underscored need for taking effective measures for augmentation of drinking water facilities in Khuri-Batpora (KB Pora) and adjacent areas of Noorabad in South Kashmir so that the problems confronting the inhabitants due to shortage of drinking water in the area would ease out. Responding to a deputation of Noorabad constituency led by PDP leader Malik Yaseen which called on him here this morning the PDP patron said that the coalition government which is committed to provide basic facilities to the people of all the areas under the guidelines of CMP is ceased of the problems being faced by the people and considers to overcome these as its prime duty and not any favour to the people. He said, however, all the problems would not be given vent overnight and asked people to cooperate for effective implementation of numerous development schemes launched for the purpose and said that the problems would be solved in a phased manner. A deputation apart from apprising the PDP Patron about overall political and economic feedback of the area demanded for up gradation of High School KB Pora, to Higher Secondary status and local Girls Middle School to High School on the plea of having over 700 roll each of the students and its central position. The deputation also strongly pleaded for improvement of 4-kms road length from KB Pora to Bangward Bala which would cover sizeable Gujjar population. Sayeed after giving patient hearing assured the deputation that their demands would be taken up for redressed at the appropriate levels. |
