| Protests rock Udhampur after youths murder | | | Sarita Jamwal Udhampur Oct 29: A 22 years old youth was allegedly murdered by some unidentified persons in Sui village of Udhampur late last night when he was returning to his home, who was a mini bus driver. According to reports a 22 years old youth identified as Haneef resident of Jakher village was allegedly murdered by some unidentified persons near Sui Village late last night after he was attacked with sharp edged weapon. Soon after receiving information Udhampur Police rushed to spot & shifted deceased to district hospital where after conducting post-mortem body was handed over to his family members. Meanwhile, irked people of Jakher village along with mini- bus operators union today blocked the Jammu-Srinager National Highway near MH Chowk by placing the dead body in middle of the road and disrupted the normal traffic for more than one hour demanding arrest of accused involved in alleged killing of youth .The agitating people were also shouting slogans against the police for not curbing the growing menace of crime in Udhmapur. They alleged that for the last few months’ murder and theft cases has increased as police failed to control and lawlessness in city prevails. However, to pacify the situation, SSP city reached the spot and assured action against those involved in crime. He said that no one will be spare in it and said that police has registered case in this regard and search is on to nab the accused involved in the case. After the assurance people lifted dead body from road and dispersed.
