Srinagar October 29: A delegation of Pahari Speaking Community led by Minister of State for PDD, CAPD, Transport Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan and Chairman, Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum, Sayed Mushtaq Ahmad Shah Bukhari met the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh here today and apprised him about the problems of this community. Among other things they demanded Schedule Tribe status to Pahari speaking community of J&K State, which stands already recommended by the State Government.
The Prime Minister gave them patient hearing and assured to address their genuine demands in due course of time.
Among others, MLA, Karnah, Mr. Kafeel-ul-Rehman, MLC, Mr. Ravinder Sharma, MLC, Mr. Jahangir Ahmad Mir, MLC, Mirza Abdul Rasheed, former MP, Sh. Thakur Singh, former Minister, Mr. Nissar Khan and former MLC, Mr. Zahid Malik were with the delegation.
