| Police foil infiltration bid, ultra killed | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: J&K police on Thursday foiled an infiltration bid by killing an alleged militant at Tangdhar in J&K.
This was the second incident after the encounter of two militants earlier in the day that included a self-styled commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba, by security personnel in Poonch district. In a joint operation, Rashtriya Rifles troops and police shot dead the self-styled commander Abu Umar and another unidentified ultra, police said. Umar, a close associate of self-styled LeT divisional commander Dawood, was injured in another encounter a week ago.
Two AK rifles, 11 grenades and 120 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him. |
