| Narco-finance network busted, 2 conduits held | | | SUMIT SHARMA
Jammu, Oct 29: The sleuths of Special Operation Group of Police have cracked down the chain of Over Ground Workers of militants with the arrested of more conduits who were carrying one kilogram charas for militants.
The consignment had to be handed over to one Mohammad Hussain who, as per planning, was instrumental to hand over the same to militants. But before they could succeed in their nefarious design, the Special Operation Group arrested them. Mohammad Hussain son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Banglabore, Doda was arrested in Narwal with hawala money of Rs 2.4 lakh and on his disclosure two Over Ground Workers identified as Sameer Ahmed Khanday son of Bashir Ahmed Khanday resident of Sangam, Anantnag and Rajneesh Gupta son of Subash Gupta resident of Sarwal were arrested in Nagrota area.
Earlier Mohammad Hussain during interrogation told police that he was carrying money for Moulvi Rafia, a divisional commander in Doda on the direction of Sameer and both had to meet en route where he was given another consignment( charas) and added that Sameer is a tanker driver. He also told the police the registration number of the tanker as JK03, 6883. He further informed that he was doing the work of courier on commission basis.
SOG sleuths on specific information that the tanker is coming from Srinagar to Jammu a naka led by DySP Mamta Sharma under the supervision of SP SOG Joginder Singh was laid in Nagrota area and arrested them with the consignment of one kilogram charas. A case in this regard has been registered in Nagrota police station.
Further during interrogation Sameer informed to SOG sleuths that he was working for Mohammad Asif, another commander in Doda and was instrumental to carry hawala money from Srinagar to Jammu. He further informed that he used to deliver the consignment in Batote where a tout of Asif was already waiting for him and added that he too was working for commission and further informed that for the last three years he had transacted Rs 18 lakh hawala money. Pertinent to mention here that Sameer had amicable relation with Asif and the whole family had been working for LeT outfit. The father of Sameer was arrested in Mumbai few years back with hawala money. Inside sources informed that a SOG team is being dispatched to Doda to arrest others involved in abetting militants.
