| Challan produced against Assistant Superintendent Jail | | | Early Times Report Jammu: State Vigilance Organization today produced challan in Court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu against Muneer Hussain the then Assistant Superintendent Jail Jammu, who was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5000/- from a relative of a detune on 27-03-2008. Court has fixed next date of hearing on 12-11-2009. According to challan son of complainant namely Rajinder Singh involved in case u/s 302 lodged in District Jail Jammu. Complainant Beant Singh used to meet his son in the jail once in a week as per the J&K Jail Manual Provisions and used to approach accused Muneer Hussain Asst Supt Jail (Incharge Mulaqat). Muneer Hussain harassed the complainant time and again and did not allow him to meet his son as per the jail rule once in a week. However, daughter-in-law and wife of the complainant meet Rajinder Singh on due date after a great reluctance on March 25, 2008, according to complaint on March 25, 2008 the daughter-in-law and wife of the complainant were not allowed to see Rajinder Singh despite repeated request to Muneer Hussain. On denial the complainant again went to district Jail Jammu on March 26, 2008 and requested accused to Muneer Hussain to allow him to meet his son but the accused out rightly refused and demanded illegal gratification of Rs 5000 for arranging a meeting with his son Rajinder Singh. Accused Muneer Hussain asked the complainant to come near Peer Baba Shrine on March 27, 2008 in the after noon with bribe money. Under these compelling circumstances the complainant lodged a complaint in VOJ and on March 27,2008 VOJ caught red-handed to accused Muneer Hussain while accepting Rs 5000 from the complainant and a case u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) J&K PC Act 2006 and section 161 RPC and after completion of investigation today challan was presented.
