Panic gripped in winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir particularly twin district of Jammu region when an earthquake shook different parts of the northern India late last night.
An earthquake measuring 6.2 on Richter scale shook different parts of the state especially Poonch and Rajouri districts where people came out of their houses after facing tremors.
‘The tremors were felt twice at around 2319 hrs and 2322 hrs, which lasted for few seconds,’’ official sources this morning told adding that the epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be in Hindukush region.
There were no reports of any casualties or damage in any part of the State so far
