| Overwhelming response to mega Lok Adalat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31: In the Mega Lok Adalat which was held at District Court Complex Janipur Jammu has constituted six benches for settling the cases. Bench No 1 comprising Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal Presiding Officer MACT Jammu and Sanjay Gupta 1st Additional District & Sessions Jammu, this bench took up 164 MACT Cases and settled two cases, an amount of Rs 1, 75, 000 was awarded. Bench No 2 comprising Vinod Chatterji Koul 2nd Additional District & Sessions Judge Jammu and Rajesh Sekri Additional District Judge (Bank cases) Jammu. This Bench took up 27 cases and settled 18 cases, an amount of Rs 35, 71, 744 was compromised and Rs 3, 99, 000 was recovered on spot. Bench No 3 comprising Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu BL Bhat and Sanjeev Bhagat Additional District Judge Matrimonial Court Jammu, this Bench took up 12 cases and settled 10 cases, an amount of Rs 2, 05, 000 was realized as permanent alimony. Bench No 4 comprising R N Wattal Electricity Magistrate and Arti Mohan Munsiff Jammu, this bench took up 160 cases and decided 145 cases. Bench No 5 presided over by R S Jasrotia Special Judge Railway, this Bench took up 60 cases and decided all the cases. Bench No 6 was presided over by Noushad Ahmed Additional Mobile Magistrate traffic Jammu, this bench took up 115 cases and settled all the cases. Lok Adalat was also held at Munsiff Court Akhnoor in which 21 criminal, 6 civil cases were taken up and 9 criminal and 2 civil cases were disposed. According to the Principal District & Sessions Judge BL Bhat Chairman District legal Service Authority that in view of overwhelming response from public at large, the Mega Lok Adalat is extended up to November 9, 2009. It was also informed to the litigants to approach the office of the Chairman District legal Service Authority for referring their cases for settlement in the Mega Lok-Adalat. JNF
