| Indira was leader with absolute power: Soz | | Floral tributes paid to Indira Gandhi | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 31: Glowing floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 25th death anniversary here today. In this connection, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) organized a function at Abhinav Theater. Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC Chief Prof Said-ud-Din Soz while paying the tribute to Indira Gandhi on her 25th death anniversary, JKPCC president said, “Indira Gandhi was a leader with absolute power. During her tenure as PM she was known as the most powerful lady on earth.” Counting her achievements, Soz said that Indira Gandhi was behind the green revolution in India. “She had a long vision and wanted to make India self dependent in every filed. She always wanted to work for poor class of our nation. It is because of her that Indian economy is emerging one of the strongest in the world.” JKPCC President said that secularism was Indira’s prime objective throughout her life and even gave her blood for secularism. Soz said, “She always stood for truth and secularism and when she died she didn’t left all this.” Maintaining that Indira had great love for Kashmir, Soz said, “She was considering Kashmir as her maternal home. Her love for Kashmir could be seen as every year she used to visit during autumn to Kashmir to enjoy the Atish-e-Chinar (Burning of Chinar leaves).” Many Congress leaders, Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Minister Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram and others paid tribute to Indira Gandhi. Rashtriya Sankalp Divas was observed today on the 25th death anniversary of late Indira Gandhi. The function was today held in the premises of Govt Boys Higher Secondary school Gandhi Nagar. The efforts of Indira Gandhi for integrity and sovereignty of the country was remembered. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh congress unit Kathua organised a program at Distt office of congress at Kathua. On the occasion MLC Subash Chander Gupta, Senior Congress leader Manohar Singh, Senior Congress leader Rattan Chand Kalotra, Gernal Sec. Distt Congress Committee Bhupinder Singh, Block President Sohan lal Sharma, Senior Congress leader Master Lal Chand Sharma, Pawan Kumar and Narinder Sharma paid floral tribute to Indra Gandhi after that they remembered her for her dynamic role and contribution. Subash Chander Gupta said Indra Gandhi was a woman of principle and also acted judiciously to deal the problems of the peoples and we should follow the path of such a great veteran politician of the country. Pradesh Congress Seva Dal under the chairmanship of Balwinder Singh Sambyal organized 25th Martyrdom of Indira Gandhi as well.
