Sikhs allege forcible conversion of girl, threaten agitation

Jammu, Nov 1: Responding to alleged forceful abduction of a Sikh girl Amit Kour daughter of Mohinder Singh of Bemina by one Mohd. Imran Dagga of Boat Colony Bemina on 18th October, representatives of Sikh and Hindu organizations demanded shifting of girl along with her family to Jammu. Representatives of various organization threatened mass agitation in case government fails to meet the demand with twenty four hours. Representatives while talking media persons at Jammu informed that more than fifty thousand Sikhs are joining on Guru Purab and the matter would be conveyed to them to gain the support.
Sikh community and Hindu Samaj expressed deep anguish and anger over forcible conversion of Sikh girl at Bemina, Srinagar. In a emergency meeting held here today at District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, near Gummat, various Sikh organizations flayed the state administration in playing communal card in the case and removing Sikh lady constables from women cell at Srinagar wherein girl was kept initially.
The story of alleged affairs of the Muslim youth professionally a mini bus driver and girl in question has totally been negated by the family members of the girl, representatives of Sikh community informed and added that conversely the girl has been threatened by the communal elements to confess in the their favour in the court otherwise her family would have to face the consequences.
Members demanded that the girl along with her family members be shifted to Jammu within 24 hours and requisite statement us 164 should be recorded in Jammu High Court to clear her stand. Failing, the government should be responsible for the consequences threatened Sikh representatives as youth are ready to go any extant in this case. Mohinder Singh, Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Mohinder Pal Singh Pandu, Virander Jit Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Narinder Singh Nana, Pawan Kohli and Rajesh Kesri.
